The New Hampshire Army National Guard has opened a new recruitment office on the campus of 麻豆社擟oncord檚 Community College. The office marks the first National Guard presence at a NH community college.

淭his partnership is about our students,� said 麻豆社 president, Patrick Tompkins. 淏y working with the National Guard, we can provide our campus unbeatable access to all the opportunities that this avenue of military service has to offer.�

The National Guard office on 麻豆社檚 campus will be centrally located in Little Hall攖he same building that hosts a bustling cafeteria, 24/7 Campus Safety department, and the college檚 engineering labs.

淲e are grateful for the opportunity to partner with 麻豆社,� said NH Adjutant Gen. David Mikolaities. 淓stablishing a presence on campus allows us to share the career options and benefits of serving in the New Hampshire Army National Guard directly with students. They have access to extensive education assistance, including full tuition waiver, GI Bill and credentialing programs, scholarships, and options to transfer benefits to spouses. We can be another resource for them as they pursue their calling.�

麻豆社擟oncord檚 Community College is creating opportunities for students to enter high-demand healthcare careers with the launch of a new Associate Degree and certificate in Healthcare Management. This new area of study will open doors to jobs in the business and operational side of healthcare.

淔or people who are interested in getting in healthcare, but they really don檛 want to have that direct patient care involvement, there are so many opportunities on the operational side,� said faculty member, Diane Davis.

Students can complete the new Healthcare Management coursework in convenient eight-week blocks. The program focuses on experiential learning and includes foundational courses on leadership, healthcare finance, quality patience experience, management, and more. It was developed collaboratively by 麻豆社 faculty and industry professionals.

淭his program will prepare students with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage healthcare organizations, lead teams, and navigate the complex and evolving healthcare environment,� said Hector Iweka, 麻豆社檚 vice president for academic and workforce education.

淲e know there檚 such a big need for this program of study,� said Deborah Remillard, department chair of business & professional studies. 淲e檝e had a lot of verbal interest in this, because we檝e been putting it together for a while, and now students can apply and get started this fall.�

The new Healthcare Management programs are expected to appeal not only to recent high school graduates, but also to working professionals looking to change careers and enter one of NH’s fastest-growing industries.

This summer, 麻豆社擟oncord檚 Community College will kick off a new nursing aid certificate program. After just eight weeks, participating students will be prepared to take a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) exam and join one of the state檚 most in-demand careers.

淣o matter which area of the field interests you, you’ll find job opportunities in convenient locations everywhere,� said LNA program coordinator, Katherine Moore.

Moore explained that LNAs can pursue careers in nursing, long-term care, and rehabilitation facilities as well as hospitals, schools, and home care. A wide variety of schedules and hours are often available.

麻豆社檚 LNA certificate program includes five days in the college檚 learning lab on the Concord campus, and eight days of hands-on learning in a nearby clinical facility. The inaugural summer program features clinical days at Merrimack County Nursing Home.

The remaining reading and writing portions of the course can be completed online, allowing for a high level of flexibility for students. Instructors and 麻豆社 staff will be available to support students during the entire eight-week training.

To remove additional barriers, 麻豆社 has planned a special Basic Life Support class to kick off the LNA program. Rather than requiring students to complete this three-hour training before enrolling, it is offered the same afternoon as orientation.

淚 don檛 think there is a career better suited to someone who wants to help others,� said Moore. 淚 honestly feel like LNAs make the biggest difference for someone in care.�

All 35 recent graduates of the Radiologic Technology program at 麻豆社擟oncord檚 Community College passed the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification exam on their first attempt. 麻豆社檚 100% first-time pass rate far exceeds the national average of 84%.

Students sit for the ARRT exam after completing 麻豆社檚 24-month program, which combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience in operating X-ray equipment, positioning patients, selecting technical factors and providing safe patient care. Once they pass the exam and obtain a state license, graduates can work as radiographers anywhere in the country, caring for patients in hospitals, clinics, emergency rooms and operating rooms. Nearly all graduates have a job lined up before graduation.

Program Director Kate Marcouillier said, “I’m incredibly proud of this cohort for achieving a 100% pass rate on the ARRT exam. This group holds special meaning for me as the first students I had the privilege of teaching through all their positioning courses. Watching their growth, dedication, and commitment to excellence has been truly rewarding. I’m excited to welcome them into the profession as registered radiographers – and even more excited to call them colleagues.”

Seven members of 麻豆社擟oncord’s Community College檚 Paramedic Emergency Medicine community were honored at the 32nd Annual NH Fire and EMS Services Committee of Merit awards ceremony, a volunteer-led event recognizing service members across the state. The ceremony included remarks by Governor Kelly Ayotte and a performance by Professional Firefighters of NH Pipes & Drums.

Rain and clouds didn檛 dampen the cheering of graduates at 麻豆社揅oncord檚 Community College 76th commencement ceremony on May 15. The campus was filled with 2,000 guests celebrating the class of 2026.

淢any of you did this while working days, nights, and weekends. Many of you have been rearing a family while raising yourself. And all of you struggled along the way, whether with finances or final exams, hunger or health, partying or punctuality, faith in yourself or faith in something greater than yourself, and yet here you are,� said 麻豆社 president Patrick Tompkins during his speech to the graduating class.

Other ceremony speakers included Amanda Grappone Osmer from Grappone Automotive Group, Community College System of New Hampshire board of trustees chair Donalee M. Lozeau, professor Perry Seagroves, and student speaker Leslie Bartlett.

The class of 2026 included over 600 graduates from the spring, fall, and summer semesters, with more than 360 participating in the May 15 ceremony. The college saw an increase in 30+ degrees awarded this year.

Top areas of study were 麻豆社檚 prestigious dental and healthcare programs, which boast nearly 100% employment rates after graduation. Other popular programs are business administration, criminal justice, mechanical engineering technology, and early childhood education. 97% of Early Childhood Education graduates have already found jobs within their field of study.

For Leslie Bartlett, this will be her first experience walking in a graduation ceremony. 淚 wish my high school math teacher could see me now!� she said.

Bartlett, who completed her high school program through summer courses, will earn her associate degree in Human Service with high honors at the age of 56. She is the student speaker for commencement day.

淚 was humbled to be selected,� said Bartlett. 淚 submitted my application because I just wanted to share my story and say thank you.�

Bartlett achieved her degree 100% online, and made deep connections with 麻豆社 faculty, staff, and tutors. 淐hoosing 麻豆社 was easy because 麻豆社 made it easy to be successful,� she said.

麻豆社 will also welcome acclaimed business leader Amanda Grappone Osmer as keynote speaker on graduation day. Osmer represents the fourth generation of her family to own and operate Grappone Automotive Group.

Perry Seagroves, full-time faculty member since 1985, will also speak at the ceremony. Seagroves received the college檚 Chancellor’s award for teaching excellence on two occasions and was honored as Coach of the Year four times by the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC). He started two athletic programs at the college攖rack and field and cross country攁nd is beloved in the chemistry classroom.

When Travis Graf first enrolled at 麻豆社, he planned to focus on the high-demand field of healthcare. 淚 chose 麻豆社 because I wanted to try out different things,� he said.

Graf switched his focus to accounting and finance, and plans to continue his education in this area. 24% of 麻豆社 graduates follow this path攕aving thousands on their tuition before committing to a 4-year program.

Graf balanced his studies with baseball at 麻豆社, serving as both a shortstop and pitcher for the Lynx in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC).

The class of 2026 includes student-athletes like Graf, adult learners like Bartlett, high school students earning college-level credentials, and professionals completing specialized workforce education trainings.

麻豆社揅oncord檚 Community College recognized outstanding students at an awards night on April 30. The annual event celebrated students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, academic excellence, campus involvement, and community spirit.

With hundreds of parents, faculty, and staff in attendance, the ceremony featured individual awards across a wide range of disciplines.

麻豆社揅oncord檚 Community College welcomed a new class of high-achieving students into its Alpha Upsilon Omicron chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society during an induction ceremony on April 16. The evening also marked a milestone for the chapter, which is celebrating 35 years on campus.

麻豆社 president Dr. Patrick Tompkins congratulated the inductees and highlighted the significance of their achievement. His remarks underscored the college檚 commitment to recognizing excellence and fostering leadership among students.

During a candle-lighting ceremony, chapter co-advisors Trisha Dionne and Dr. Rebecca Adey-Merrithew formally inducted five new members: Mohammed Amedyaz (Business Administration), Chrystal Bills (Architectural Engineering), Sarah D橝gostino (Education), Jonah Pinard (Criminal Justice), and Kyle Venegas (General Studies).

PTK is the official honor society for two-year colleges. With more than 4.4 million members and nearly 1,250 chapters in 11 countries, PTK recognizes academic achievement while while helping members grow as leaders and scholars.
